You’re in a rush from the busy day, it’s later than expected and your family is ready to eat NOW. We’ve all been there moms and as much as we plan meals ahead of time and do our best to set up the weekly menu, there are times where eating out is just the easiest option. Here’s how to find your local favorite!
Close & convenient: Ask your neighbors and friends where their go-to family dinner spot is. Word of mouth can be a great source in knowing what’s close by and dependable. Also, find a place that has parking options so you and your family can easily get in and out in a pinch. Prompt meals are key here when it’s getting late in the day, so a fast moving establishment such as pay and take a number is a great option.
Healthy options: Our family loves the California chain Tender Greens. Why? Because not only do they have multiple locations ranging from Hollywood to Santa Monica, (also open in New York City!) but they have a wide range of fresh meals ready to eat. I call it our “healthy buffet”. They offer freshly made salads, protein platters and vegetarian options. Even their vegan desserts are outstanding. What’s also great is our daughter is happy to share a BBQ baked chicken plate with mixed garden vegetables and mash potatoes. Tender Greens also has daily specials to keep the menu interesting. So moms, find your local option that caters to your family’s needs versus the quick drive thru. More and more health conscious options are now available nationwide!
Family friendly: When you have young children, going to a busy restaurant can be challenging at times. Make sure to call ahead and find out if your local restaurant offers high chairs, booster seats and restroom changing tables. We’ve all been there when we arrive with delicious meals and baby has to stay in their stroller to eat or on our laps. Not ideal! Also find seating that is comfortable and near the exit in case your children are ready to leave quickly. We take to-go boxes at the counter ahead of time for a speedy exit when need. Now find your family favorite and enjoy!
